What Does the American Flag Mean to Me?
The American Legion Auxiliary yearly works with Grandview Jr. High and Our Lady of the Lake 6th grade students and their teachers to have the students write an essay about what the American flag means to them. This year there were almost 200 students that submitted their essay to be reviewed by Veterans, Post 398 members, Sons of the American Legion (SAL), Auxiliary members, Blue Star families, Active in Service but on leave, and local community members.
We are very proud of our youth/students in Mound, MN as they have great insight!
Selected were 20 that meant to most to those evaluating them and these were printed and made available at the Memorial Day event held at the Gallespie Center on Monday, May 27th.
